Kindergarten Screening

This is the last hurdle. The final formality before beginning school.  Although I did not have the same nerves as when my first went through screening I was still cringing at the thought of how Miles would behave behind closed doors.

True, one-on-one he is usually more responsive so it was the best case scenario for him to showcase his skills.

After an hour and fifteen minutes a teacher brought him back out to me and asked if I could sit down with her for a few minutes.  This is what they did for every kid that came out so I wasn't surprised.  Specifically what he needs to work on over the summer are:
- writing his name
- copying shapes
- cutting skills
- rhyming

The second page of the screening printout was devoted to speech and language skills. And there were no notes there.  No notable struggle at all in that area.  I was so relieved to see results from his speech intervention!

Lately Miles has become extremely difficult.  Lying, stealing, sneaking around, and deliberately disobeying.  It is very hard to get him to sit down and accomplish anything constructive, especially now that I have zero planning time.
